After 4 minutes, Eduardo Miranda mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Grêmio FBPA and the Jr Familia Campos FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 4th match minute, Grêmio FBPA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eduardo Miranda to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 9 minutes, Norberto Quadros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grêmio FBPA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Norberto Quadros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 12 minutes into the match, Jr Familia Campos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Barros came free, but Felipe Koehler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute Dedê Freitas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moisés da Silveira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the game, Luiz Maia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Felipe Koehler was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Felipe Koehler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norberto Quadros in the 30th minute of play. After 34 minutes, Raí Donato mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Jr Familia Campos FC and the Grêmio FBPA players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Grêmio FBPA booed when Jr Familia Campos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raí Donato didn't get a good kick on the ball. Felipe Koehler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Norberto Quadros in the 37th minute of play. In the 41st minute Alberto Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felipe Koehler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jr Familia Campos FC's Júlio Arruda managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Marcos Loureiro in the 43 minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Júlio Arruda in the 44th minute of play forced Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Moisés da Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Moisés da Silveira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raí Donato in the 46th minute of the match. The Jr Familia Campos FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Grêmio FBPA were winning 0-1.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Norberto Quadros in the 63rd minute of play forced Jr Familia Campos FC's goalkeeper Felipe Koehler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Grêmio FBPA getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Alberto Barros hit a great ball. Genílson Salgado hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Alberto Barros could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Felipe Koehler made a huge save. Moisés da Silveira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dedê Freitas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Jr Familia Campos FC booed when Grêmio FBPA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clóvis Faria didn't get a good kick on the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Raí Donato notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Grêmio FBPA's Moisés da Silveira. Moisés da Silveira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Grêmio FBPA's José Pedro Novaes was substituted for Alberto Barros. In the 81st minute, Dedê Freitas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jr Familia Campos FC's Douglas Dionísio pulled a muscle in his back after 83 minutes and couldn't finish the game. José Pedro Novaes's late challenge caught a Jr Familia Campos FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. José Pedro Novaes helped the player get up and apologised. After 84 played minutes Grêmio FBPA got a freekick which was hit by José Pedro Novaes. Moisés da Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dedê Freitas, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Dráuzio Queiroz charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dráuzio Queiroz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dráuzio Queiroz kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
