The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th match minute, BEST FABIO F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerald Guthrie to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Mexilhão F. C. booed when BEST FABIO F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldinho Ferreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fritz Berghmans in the 11th minute of play forced Mexilhão F. C.'s goalkeeper Marcelinho Matorin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reinaldo Penha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Olivier Dubs tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 17 played minutes Mexilhão F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Reinaldo Penha. 18 minutes into the game, Waldemar de Sena was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mexilhão F. C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BEST FABIO F.C. the free kick. After 18 played minutes Mexilhão F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Waldemar de Sena. In the 19th minute, Juninho de Sena sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Mexilhão F. C.'s Marcelinho Matorin didn't even have to move. In the 20th minute Rodrigo Garro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelinho Matorin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 22 minutes Mexilhão F. C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Juninho de Sena who took care of the corner kick. Mexilhão F. C.'s Marcelinho Matorin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodrigo Garro in the 23rd minute of play. Jiang Liang Wei received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Marcelinho Matorin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 33 minutes into the game, BEST FABIO F.C.'s Jiang Liang Wei nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcelinho Matorin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. When Rodrigo Garro came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the BEST FABIO F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodrigo Garro couldn't finish the play. In the 37th minute, Rodrigo Garro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcelinho Matorin was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Olivier Dubs made an important save on a dangerous shot by Reinaldo Penha in the 44th minute. In the 46th minute Jiang Liang Wei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelinho Matorin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 47 minutes of play Mexilhão F. C.'s Waldemar de Sena was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Waldemar de Sena kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Reinaldo Penha made a kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Gerald Guthrie cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Marcelinho Matorin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 59th minute, Jiang Liang Wei made a precise shot to the right of Marcelinho Matorin. Mexilhão F. C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. 63 minutes into the game, Jiang Liang Wei recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcelinho Matorin. Jiang Liang Wei showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. Marcelinho Matorin made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Jiang Liang Wei sent off a good shot on target. Mexilhão F. C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 68th minute, when Rodrigo Garro scored to the left of an out of position Marcelinho Matorin, making the score, 0-7. BEST FABIO F.C. made a substitution. Toninho Cosme replaced Rodrigo Garro. Mexilhão F. C.'s Marcelinho Matorin proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Mexilhão F. C. from getting a goal against them. Mexilhão F. C.'s Marcelinho Matorin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Toninho Cosme in the 74th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Toninho Cosme in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcelinho Matorin saved Mexilhão F. C. from getting behind. A collision led to Mexilhão F. C. getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Ediberto Donatello hit a great ball. Marcelinho Matorin acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 82nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Juninho de Sena. Marcelinho Matorin was a little too slow when Fritz Berghmans got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 83rd minute. The score was now 0-8. In the 86th minute of the game, Serafim Motta landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. After 86 minutes, Toninho Cosme mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the BEST FABIO F.C. and the Mexilhão F. C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Mexilhão F. C. booed when BEST FABIO F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toninho Cosme didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 89th minute, BEST FABIO F.C.'s Jiang Liang Wei ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marcelinho Matorin. Marcelinho Matorin yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-9. Marcelinho Matorin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jiang Liang Wei in the 92nd minute of play. 0-10 became the score in the 93rd minute when Fritz Berghmans elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When the match was over BEST FABIO F.C. could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Mexilhão F. C. throughout the match.
