After 80 played minutes, Montevideo's Edvaldo Urbano shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tiago Gabriel Cabral came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Montevideo reached it. 83 minutes into the match, Montevideo's goal looked a bit too open when Renan Sabóia came free, but Andreas Lips reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Iuri Vidal got free with Andreas Lips in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Andreas Lips stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bebeto Dantas's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. 96 minutes into the game, Montevideo's Leandro Brito nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tiago Gabriel Cabral made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Montevideo had played much better football throughout.
