Oswaldo Nunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hélder Madureira in the 2nd minute of the match. 5 minutes into the match, ҜƗŇǤ ŁƗØŇ Ř€Đ βŁΔĆҜ's goal looked a bit too open when Eliézer da Silveira came free, but Oswaldo Nunes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute Benjamim da Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oswaldo Nunes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 17th minute, Castanheiro SC's Hélder Madureira ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Oswaldo Nunes. Oswaldo Nunes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. After some careless play in the ҜƗŇǤ ŁƗØŇ Ř€Đ βŁΔĆҜ defense, Hélder Madureira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Oswaldo Nunes. The ҜƗŇǤ ŁƗØŇ Ř€Đ βŁΔĆҜ fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Oswaldo Nunes should have stopped the shot. Hélder Madureira might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Oswaldo Nunes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hélder Madureira ran back to his position shaking his head. Pedrinho Guimarães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Nascimento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benjamim da Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 29 minutes into the game, Hélder Madureira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Castanheiro SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ҜƗŇǤ ŁƗØŇ Ř€Đ βŁΔĆҜ the free kick. In the 29th minute, Hélder Madureira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Diego Pena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Pedrinho Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Diego Pena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Through an outstanding action, after 40 minutes, Oswaldo Nunes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. If Benjamim da Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Luiz Nascimento made the kick off in the second half. ҜƗŇǤ ŁƗØŇ Ř€Đ βŁΔĆҜ's Luiz Nascimento got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Castanheiro SC's Benjamim da Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Luiz Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Pedrinho Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. ҜƗŇǤ ŁƗØŇ Ř€Đ βŁΔĆҜ's Evaristo Mello was substituted for Nando de Queiroz. After 62 minutes, Diego Pena mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ҜƗŇǤ ŁƗØŇ Ř€Đ βŁΔĆҜ and the Castanheiro SC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Castanheiro SC booed when ҜƗŇǤ ŁƗØŇ Ř€Đ βŁΔĆҜ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Pena didn't get a good kick on the ball. 71 minutes into the game, Castanheiro SC's Mauro Sarmento nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Oswaldo Nunes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. 75 minutes into the match, Castanheiro SC's Hélder Madureira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Oswaldo Nunes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. ҜƗŇǤ ŁƗØŇ Ř€Đ βŁΔĆҜ's Oswaldo Nunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hélder Madureira in the 77th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Diego Pena got free with Pedrinho Guimarães in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cássio Rocks kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. In the game's 91st minute Castanheiro SC's Eliézer da Silveira took a hard shot from long distance, a kick which went into the net just to the right of Oswaldo Nunes and thus the score was 4-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Castanheiro SC fully deserved thier win.
