Spectators: 158 (Terracing: 119, Seating: 36, VIP seats: 3) The crowd rose to their feet as Wellington Phoenix's Alex Paulista slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Elói Freitas. That made the score 1-0 after 5 minutes of play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 8 minutes into the game, when Diego Queirós put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in Gracie Barra fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 7th minute. Penalty! After a rather tough play, Gracie Barra's Doni Ramalho got a free kick in the 11th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Wellington Phoenix's Gustavo Sabóia slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Elói Freitas. That made the score 3-0 after 12 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabinho Vinhas in the 17th minute of play forced Wellington Phoenix's goalkeeper Zeca Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 21 minutes, Walmyr Freitas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wellington Phoenix and the Gracie Barra players grew even worse after the yellow card. Walmyr Freitas hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. 26 minutes into the match, Gracie Barra's goal looked a bit too open when Gustavo Sabóia came free, but Elói Freitas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 33rd match minute, Gracie Barra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baltazar de Amorim to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Fabinho Vinhas in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zeca Santos saved Wellington Phoenix from getting behind. Zeca Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doni Ramalho in the 37th minute of play. João Paulo Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Zeca Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Paulo Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fabinho Vinhas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Nilmar Linhares cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Elói Freitas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Wellington Phoenix's Zeca Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabinho Vinhas in the 56th minute of play. After 56 minutes of play, Gracie Barra's Fabinho Vinhas made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zeca Santos was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 68 played minutes Gracie Barra got a freekick which was hit by João Carlos Alves. Wellington Phoenix's Mazinho Baptista was substituted for Nilmar Linhares. Wellington Phoenix's Juarês Teixeira was substituted for Walmyr Freitas. A collision led to Gracie Barra getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. João Carlos Alves hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Doni Ramalho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gracie Barra's supporters rose to their feet, but Doni Ramalho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zeca Santos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 78 played minutes Wellington Phoenix got a freekick which was hit by Belmiro Teixeira. Tiago Godoi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Wellington Phoenix booed when Gracie Barra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiago Godoi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gil Cardoso kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Doni Ramalho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Zeca Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, Wellington Phoenix's goal looked a bit too open when Tiago Godoi came free, but Zeca Santos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wellington Phoenix's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
