Jumentus Rock Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave JEC - FC the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Liu Xiang Zhen in the 16th minute of play forced Jumentus Rock Club's goalkeeper Tomás Ceresso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomás Ceresso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Liu Xiang Zhen went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. If Julio Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roberto Oliveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nestor de Souza in the 21st minute of play. Tomás Ceresso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pero Šiljak in the 26th minute of the match. 29 minutes into the match, JEC - FC's goalkeeper Roberto Oliveira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Geovanni Moreira. Tales Goiano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Roberto Oliveira made a huge save. The JEC - FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Roberto Oliveira should have stopped the shot. 61 minutes into the match, JEC - FC's goal looked a bit too open when Reinaldo Arce came free, but Roberto Oliveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
