The supporters of Squadra de Pippe booed when Borgo Doria F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristoforo Parente didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristoforo Tellini during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Stefano Pintor came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Squadra de Pippe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Stefano Pintor couldn't finish the play. With an all-out effort, Squadra de Pippe's Emilio Palone threw himself towards the right post 25 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Francesco Sardella, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Squadra de Pippe's Francesco Sardella managed to work through Borgo Doria F.C.'s defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Francesco Sardella dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. In the 26th minute, Alexander Albertosi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 27th minute of the match Giacomo Renzi sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ciro Biondi skillfully saved the ball. Ciro Biondi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Filippo Berti in the 29th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francesco Sardella in the 32nd minute of play forced Borgo Doria F.C.'s goalkeeper Emilio Palone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 33 minutes into the match, Borgo Doria F.C.'s goalkeeper Emilio Palone had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Francesco Sardella. With an all-out effort, Squadra de Pippe's Emilio Palone threw himself towards the right post 35 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Francesco Sardella, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Emilio Palone made a fantastic save in the 38th minute, when Alfonso Damiani sent off a good shot on target. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francesco Sardella to make the kick off. Borgo Doria F.C.'s Emilio Palone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dimitri Di Livio in the 50th minute of play. The supporters of Squadra de Pippe booed when Borgo Doria F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristoforo Tellini didn't get a good kick on the ball. 60 minutes into the match, Squadra de Pippe's goal looked a bit too open when Cristoforo Tellini came free, but Ciro Biondi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Francesco Sardella in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emilio Palone saved Borgo Doria F.C. from getting behind. 94 minutes into the game, Squadra de Pippe's Dimitri Di Livio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Emilio Palone made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Squadra de Pippe fans cheered their team off the field, for while Borgo Doria F.C. had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
