Paolo Montero took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 10th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Froila Espin. Golden Dragón F.C's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 20th match minute, PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paolo Montero to maneuver through the defense. Natal Sainz hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. Natal Sainz kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. 25 minutes into the match, PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquim Pereta came free, but Randall Rodríguez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joaquim Pereta scored 1-0 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Randall Rodríguez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 34 minutes into the match, Golden Dragón F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Marcelo Zalayeta came free, but Froila Espin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Golden Dragón F.C booed when PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nelson Olveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Golden Dragón F.C's Joaquim Pereta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Randall Rodríguez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's zone, Xoan Barbera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Randall Rodríguez came out of the goal and Xoan Barbera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's defense didn't have a chance, in the 47th minute, when Xoan Barbera scored to the left of an out of position Randall Rodríguez, making the score, 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 52nd minute Marcelo Zalayeta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Froila Espin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Randall Rodríguez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Xoan Barbera, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. After 62 played minutes Golden Dragón F.C got a freekick which was hit by Rius Elvira. PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON's Leoiar Moncada was substituted for Paolo Montero. The supporters of PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON booed when Golden Dragón F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rius Elvira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Froila Espin had in the 67thth minute some difficulties stopping Marcelo Zalayeta's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Froila Espin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar Macho in the 69th minute of the match. After having played for 71 minutes, Joaquim Pereta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Golden Dragón F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joaquim Pereta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Froila Espin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelo Zalayeta, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Froila Espin was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Marcelo Zalayeta showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 83 minute of play. In the 87th match minute, PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Perdomo to maneuver through the defense. Walme Labandera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Randall Rodríguez having to interfere. Rius Elvira charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rius Elvira the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Froila Espin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcelo Zalayeta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. José Perdomo was shown his second yellow card after 96 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Golden Dragón F.C's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
