In the 4thth minute of the game Lv Lei who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bornova's Sonny Alén was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of KOO Tigers booed when Bornova was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artun Kaçan didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Cafer Sonalp fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bornova's protests and gave Cafer Sonalp a yellow card for diving instead. Cafer Sonalp hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. 16 minutes into the match, Bornova's goal looked a bit too open when Lv Lei came free, but Sonny Alén reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 17th minute KOO Tigers were awarded a corner. Hilmi Onursan went to the cornerflag to take it. Sonny Alén made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lv Lei in the 20th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lv Lei in the 21st minute of play forced Bornova's goalkeeper Sonny Alén to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. KOO Tigers's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hilmi Onursan in the 23rd minute. Sonny Alén stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lv Lei's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. 32 minutes into the match, KOO Tigers's Lv Lei sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sonny Alén narrowly saved just below the crossbar. KOO Tigers were awarded a corner in the 37th minute after Bornova's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Hilmi Onursan took the corner. KOO Tigers's Servet Yılma was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Sonny Alén in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 39 minutes into the match, KOO Tigers's Lv Lei sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Sonny Alén narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Bornova's zone, Lv Lei stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sonny Alén came out of the goal and Lv Lei tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hilmi Onursan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Sonny Alén tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Bornova's zone, Lv Lei stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sonny Alén came out of the goal and Lv Lei tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. KOO Tigers were furious when Abdulkerim Uğuş was red carded, 45 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 45th minute, one of KOO Tigers:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for KOO Tigers. The Bornova players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. KOO Tigers were winning 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lv Lei to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Artun Kaçan in the 54th minute of play forced KOO Tigers's goalkeeper Halil Utku Evvah to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. From a short distance, KOO Tigers's Lv Lei, in the 57th minute, tried to place the ball behind Sonny Alén, but the ball hit the right post on the wrong side and went out. A hard shot by Hilmi Onursan from long distance, 60 minutes into the match, got Sonny Alén's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Sonny Alén came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by KOO Tigers's Meriç Baytekin. But to his dismay, Meriç Baytekin quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. KOO Tigers's Désiré Kaká was substituted for Meriç Baytekin. In the 68th minute Sergen Tanaltay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Halil Utku Evvah saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sermet Yalgın charged in rather forcefully in the 69th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sermet Yalgın the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 69 played minutes Bornova got a freekick which was hit by Sermet Yalgın. Sonny Alén showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hilmi Onursan in the 71st minute of the match. When KOO Tigers's Lv Lei in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bornova's goalie prevented a goal. 74 minutes into the match, Bornova's goal looked a bit too open when Désiré Kaká came free, but Sonny Alén reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th minute Lv Lei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sonny Alén saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bornova's Sonny Alén proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 83rd minute of the match, managed to save Bornova from getting a goal against them. Through an outstanding action, after 85 minutes, Sonny Alén successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a rather tough play, KOO Tigers's Désiré Kaká got a free kick in the 86th minute. When Désiré Kaká fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored KOO Tigers's protests and gave Désiré Kaká a yellow card for diving instead. After 91 played minutes KOO Tigers got a freekick which was hit by Désiré Kaká. The crowd rose to their feet as KOO Tigers's Lv Lei slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sonny Alén. That made the score 0-4 after 94 minutes of play. 97 minutes into the match, KOO Tigers's goal looked a bit too open when Artun Kaçan came free, but Halil Utku Evvah reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. KOO Tigers walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
