Denzil Shakespeare kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Gary Niven blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jeffrey Moyse having to make a save. 15 minutes into the match, Leicester Lions's goal looked a bit too open when Pierre Pickard came free, but Gerry Neville reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Duncan Lawless hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Gerry Neville showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pierre Pickard in the 21st minute of the match. Danny Rowe kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. The supporters of Harlow AFC booed when Leicester Lions was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ralf Hind didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gwyn Radcliffe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 37th minute Gwyn Radcliffe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeffrey Moyse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

51 minutes into the game, Pierre Pickard cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Gerry Neville was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Harlow AFC's Jeffrey Moyse proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Harlow AFC from getting a goal against them. In the 65th minute Allan Warburton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeffrey Moyse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gwyn Radcliffe's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jeffrey Moyse read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pierre Pickard in the 78th minute of play forced Leicester Lions's goalkeeper Gerry Neville to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 80thth minute of the game Gwyn Radcliffe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Harlow AFC's Jeffrey Moyse was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Gerry Neville took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pierre Pickard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rio Linkletter hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Leicester Lions's Gerry Neville played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donny Winstanley in the 88th minute of play. The supporters of Harlow AFC booed when Leicester Lions was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Duncan Lawless didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leicester Lions were furious when Ralf Hind was red carded, 95 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Ronan Folan struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Gerry Neville didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Harlow AFC. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Harlow AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Leicester Lions had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
