When Costin Cuculeanu fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stiinta-Univ.'s protests and gave Costin Cuculeanu a yellow card for diving instead. Costin Cuculeanu hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in FC BaLiSt's zone, Mihai Niță stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ionuț Vizitiu came out of the goal and Mihai Niță tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sandu Junilă kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. A collision led to FC BaLiSt getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Mircea Irod hit a great ball. In the 15th minute, Mihai Niță got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 16 played minutes FC BaLiSt got a freekick which was hit by Laurențiu Encica. Ovidiu Borza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ovidiu Borza struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Ionuț Vizitiu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Stiinta-Univ.. Ovidiu Borza hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. A collision led to Stiinta-Univ. getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Sandu Junilă hit a great ball. 40 minutes into the match, Manole Secară sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Felix Ghee threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Manole Secară this time. Felix Ghee showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Răzvan Frumuzache, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. When Ovidiu Borza came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Stiinta-Univ. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ovidiu Borza couldn't finish the play. FC BaLiSt made a substitution. Bogdan Ungheanu replaced Victor Frențiu.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ovidiu Borza made a kick off. FC BaLiSt's Ionuț Vizitiu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mihai Niță in the 53rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Traian Muscaș in the 57th minute of play forced Stiinta-Univ.'s goalkeeper Felix Ghee to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Felix Ghee took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Răzvan Frumuzache, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 61st minute Răzvan Frumuzache shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felix Ghee saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aron Constantiniu hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. In the 76th minute, Manole Secară hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC BaLiSt's Ionuț Vizitiu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save FC BaLiSt from getting a goal against them. The tension between the FC BaLiSt and the Stiinta-Univ. players grew even worse after the yellow card. The FC BaLiSt fans cheered their team off the field, for while Stiinta-Univ. had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
