When Kerry Petty fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Khachatryan's protests and gave Kerry Petty a yellow card for diving instead. In the 8th minute Geoff Ackerman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Covington saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Miguel Covington made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Curt Barrios in the 9th minute of play. Miguel Covington took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geoff Ackerman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julian Carver hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. A collision led to Khachatryan getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Kerry Petty hit a great ball. In the 22nd minute Curt Barrios shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Covington saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Miguel Covington didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geoff Ackerman went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After some careless play in the Deportivo Rodriguez defense, Keith Arden kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gregory Fink. The Deportivo Rodriguez fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gregory Fink should have stopped the shot. Del Cleveland was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 35 minutes into the match. A collision led to Khachatryan getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Del Cleveland hit a great ball. In the 36th minute of the match Ruben Crandall sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Miguel Covington skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 38 minutes, Keith Arden managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Khachatryan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Keith Arden was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 42nd minute, Kerry Jacobsen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rashad Acostas short, quick shot in the 46thth minute got Gregory Fink to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Keith Arden was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rashad Acosta in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gregory Fink saved Deportivo Rodriguez from getting behind. In the 52nd match minute, Deportivo Rodriguez was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sherman Holliday to maneuver through the defense. Sherman Holliday kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Deportivo Rodriguez defense, Keith Arden kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gregory Fink. The Deportivo Rodriguez fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gregory Fink should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Khachatryan getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Alistair Leslie hit a great ball. Raymond Arrington received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Miguel Covington tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Khachatryan's Miguel Covington played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Curt Barrios in the 66th minute of play. In the 67th match minute, Deportivo Rodriguez was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raymond Arrington to maneuver through the defense. In the 71st minute Curt Barrios shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Covington saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raymond Arrington who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 75thth minute tested the skills of Miguel Covington when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the match clock showed 76 minutes, the score became 3-1 when Keith Arden sped through Deportivo Rodriguez's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Gregory Fink. 79 minutes into the game, one of Deportivo Rodriguez:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Keith Arden walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 81 minutes into the game, Raymond Arrington was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deportivo Rodriguez's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Khachatryan the free kick. In the 81st match minute, Deportivo Rodriguez was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raymond Arrington to maneuver through the defense. Rashad Acosta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Steve Napier's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Miguel Covington firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 86thth minute of the game Keith Arden who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Deportivo Rodriguez's Gregory Fink was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Keith Arden struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Gregory Fink didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Khachatryan. A collision led to Khachatryan getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Kerry Jacobsen hit a great ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Deportivo Rodriguez players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Khachatryan.
