The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 minutes, Victor Koh mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Manchester United and the Persepolis F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 2 played minutes Manchester United got a freekick which was hit by Victor Koh. If Danish Dryburgh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Adolphe Staley managed to avoid a goal in the 13thth minute, when Manchester United's Danish Dryburgh fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 14 minutes into the game, Sylvain Minton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Persepolis F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manchester United the free kick. After a rather tough play, Persepolis F.C.'s Sylvain Minton got a free kick in the 14th minute. Ryan Nair might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Adolphe Staley. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ryan Nair ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Danish Dryburgh got free with Adolphe Staley in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Danish Dryburgh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adolphe Staley having to interfere. Danish Dryburgh's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 20thth minute, Adolphe Staley skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 24 minutes, Shahiran Kool mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Manchester United and the Persepolis F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 26 played minutes Persepolis F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Ashley Bourgeois. Danish Dryburghs short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got Adolphe Staley to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 30th play minutes Sylvain Minton shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Adam Lee and just under the crossbar into goal. Danish Dryburgh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adolphe Staley having to interfere. Adolphe Staley didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Manchester United's Danish Dryburgh shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. Persepolis F.C.'s Fabien Tomlinson got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Manchester United fans' excitement grew in the 49th match minute when Manchester United's Danish Dryburgh looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Danish Dryburgh made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Danish Dryburgh in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Adolphe Staley saved Persepolis F.C. from getting behind. In the 61st minute, Victor Koh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ryan Nair sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Walker Kline hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. 70 minutes into the match, Joel Paine had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adolphe Staley. Persepolis F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Joel Paine was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Danish Dryburgh put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Adolphe Staley. 78 minutes into the game, Fabien Tomlinson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Persepolis F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manchester United the free kick. A collision led to Persepolis F.C. getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Fabien Tomlinson hit a great ball. After 83 minutes of play Persepolis F.C.'s Sylvain Minton was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Brenton Shipp kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. In the 86th minute, Danish Dryburgh ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Adolphe Staley was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. Joel Paine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Adolphe Staley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Persepolis F.C.'s goalkeeper Adolphe Staley, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Manchester United fully deserved thier win.
