Lengua de Lobo's Ceferino Nabar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardino Patxi in the 22nd minute of play. Gogo Gimenez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aquiles Meo, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. After 42 minutes, Eulalio Pitin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Imperio Académico and the Lengua de Lobo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Aquiles Meo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Imperio Académico's Eulalio Pitin got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Imperio Académico made a substitution.
