After a rather tough play, Trinidad 4.7's Sixto Rodriguez got a free kick in the 16th minute. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Trinidad 4.7's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cipriano Aznaro was slow to take the kick. During this time Florida Gulf Coast's players had a chance to rest. Cipriano Aznaro made a great header on Florida Gulf Coast's corner, it was just that Trinidad 4.7's Bernardino Quiroga managed to reach the ball for a save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
