The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Adam Aquilina received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Vasyl Shevel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Templars FC's Dylan Pizzuto got a free kick in the 5th minute. Templars FC's Nick Grech proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Templars FC from getting a goal against them. Kostyantyn Tereschenko fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nick Grech having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Kostyantyn Tereschenko left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Ruh Lviv fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Nick Grech made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kostyantyn Tereschenko in the 42nd minute. Vadym Maxymov hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. Templars FC's Mark Borg Xuereb couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 46th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for FC Ruh Lviv. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

FC Ruh Lviv's Ruslan Danylovskyi was substituted for Kostyantyn Tereschenko. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Anatoliy Batyuk to make the kick off. After 55 minutes of play, Templars FC's Peter Degiorgio made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vasyl Shevel was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the Templars FC defense, Mykhaylo Schastlyvyi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nick Grech. The Templars FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nick Grech should have stopped the shot. 63 minutes into the game, Adam Aquilina was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Templars FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Ruh Lviv the free kick. A collision led to Templars FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Adam Aquilina hit a great ball. When Peter Degiorgio came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Templars FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peter Degiorgio couldn't finish the play. Vasyl Shevel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adam Aquilina in the 73rd minute. Adam Aquilina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. FC Ruh Lviv's Vasyl Shevel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luke Abdilla in the 80th minute of play. The FC Ruh Lviv fans cheered their team off the field, for while Templars FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
