When Matias Escobar fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Buenaventura FC's protests and gave Matias Escobar a yellow card for diving instead. In the 2nd minute, Matias Escobar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 5th match minute, Buenaventura FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rolando Peralta to maneuver through the defense. Ramon Osorio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Lozano having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Buenaventura FC's Leonidas Moscoso got a free kick in the 12th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Buenaventura FC's goal looked a bit too open when Julio Perez came free, but Julio Lozano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th match minute, Buenaventura FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Herrera to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute of the match Eduardo Mendieta sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Lozano skillfully saved the ball. After 22 minutes of play, Flamengo de San Blás's Julio Perez made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Lozano was left in no man's land by his defense there! 25 minutes into the match, Buenaventura FC's goal looked a bit too open when Julio Perez came free, but Julio Lozano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julio Perez in the 27th minute of play forced Buenaventura FC's goalkeeper Julio Lozano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Humberto Peralta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Julio Lozano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Buenaventura FC's goal looked a bit too open when Raul De Gracia came free, but Julio Lozano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 39 played minutes Buenaventura FC got a freekick which was hit by Andrés Chavez. In the 40th minute, Leonidas Moscoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 41st minute of the match Miguel Herrera shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Lozano showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ramon Osorio in the 47th minute of play forced Buenaventura FC's goalkeeper Julio Lozano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Andrés Chavez to make the kick off. Roger Martinez's late challenge caught a Flamengo de San Blás's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roger Martinez helped the player get up and apologised. Roger Martinez hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. Raul De Gracia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Julio Lozano made a huge save. Roger Martinez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivan Mota having to interfere. In the 71st minute Toro Martínez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. During the 76th minute of the match Leonidas Moscoso completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Leonidas Moscoso a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 77th minute, Leonidas Moscoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 78 played minutes Buenaventura FC got a freekick which was hit by Leonidas Moscoso. Julio Lozano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Humberto Peralta's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Flamengo de San Blás's Raul De Gracia slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Julio Lozano. That made the score 0-2 after 87 minutes of play. Julio Lozano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramon Osorio, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. The supporters of Buenaventura FC booed when Flamengo de San Blás was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pablo Ortega didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ivan Mota showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juan Herrera in the 93rd minute of the match. Flamengo de San Blás played a much better game than Buenaventura FC and deserved their victory. The Buenaventura FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
