An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Eduardo dos Santos in the 3rd minute of play forced Sagarana Clube's goalkeeper Kiko Aparecido to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kiko Aparecido made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Luís Eduardo dos Santos sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Eliseu Neto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sagarana Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliseu Neto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nestor Trigo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Diamond Crown FC's Arthur Dionísio got a free kick in the 13th minute. Sidnei Trigo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nestor Trigo having to interfere. In the 17th minute, Luís Eduardo dos Santos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sidnei Trigo scored 0-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nestor Trigo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Leonardo Falcão fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Diamond Crown FC's protests and gave Leonardo Falcão a yellow card for diving instead. After 22 played minutes Diamond Crown FC got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Falcão. Jailson Brodel got a throw-in 24 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Luís Eduardo dos Santos. Iuri Vinhas kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. The supporters of Sagarana Clube booed when Diamond Crown FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Eduardo dos Santos didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luís Eduardo dos Santos got free with Kiko Aparecido in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kiko Aparecido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Eduardo dos Santos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Tostão Goiano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnaldo dos Santos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Nestor Trigo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Arthur Dionísio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Diamond Crown FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sagarana Clube the free kick. In the 59th match minute, Diamond Crown FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Fernando Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Diamond Crown FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Celsinho Cordeiro hit a great ball. 72 minutes into the match, Sagarana Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Eduardo dos Santos came free, but Kiko Aparecido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diamond Crown FC's Nestor Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseu Neto in the 79th minute of play.
