PEÇONHENTO FC MG's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CE LAJEADENSE RS the free kick. A collision led to PEÇONHENTO FC MG getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Bruno da Costa hit a great ball. Luisão Simões was out of position in the 6 minute of play, and Glauco Paranaense capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Glauco Paranaense really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. In the 9th minute, Manfredo de Sena made a precise shot to the right of Lauro Linhares. CE LAJEADENSE RS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. In the 15th minute, Luís Gustavo Teles left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CE LAJEADENSE RS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. 18 minutes into the match, PEÇONHENTO FC MG's goalkeeper Luisão Simões had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Caio Ramos. In the 24th match minute, CE LAJEADENSE RS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Caio Ramos to maneuver through the defense. Lauro Linhares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vivaldo Pitta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Luisão Simões managed to avoid a goal in the 26thth minute, when CE LAJEADENSE RS's Caio Ramos fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 28 minutes, Glauco Paranaense mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CE LAJEADENSE RS and the PEÇONHENTO FC MG players grew even worse after the yellow card. Glauco Paranaense let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 30th minute shot 3-1 at rihgt post. 35 minutes into the match, Bruno da Costa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lauro Linhares. CE LAJEADENSE RS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bruno da Costa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Glauco Paranaense took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luisão Simões. Luisão Simões dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. The audience thought a goal was coming when Caio Ramos got free with Luisão Simões in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 44 minutes into the match, Luís de Lara notched a goal, 5-2, to the right of PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Luisão Simões. Luisão Simões was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-2 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Elói Nogueira to strike the kick off in the second half. Luisão Simões made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Glauco Paranaense in the 57th minute of play. In the 58th minute, Elói Nogueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Caio Ramos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luisão Simões having to interfere. 69 minutes into the match, CE LAJEADENSE RS's Glauco Paranaense sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luisão Simões narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Caio Ramos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Luisão Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Glauco Paranaense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luisão Simões having to make a save. 78 minutes into the game, CE LAJEADENSE RS's Luís de Lara nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luisão Simões made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-2. Luisão Simões came out of the goal in the 80th minute to try and stop a shot by CE LAJEADENSE RS's Eliézer Ramos. But to his dismay, Eliézer Ramos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-2. In the 83rd minute, Luís Gustavo Teles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot by Dida Vale from long distance, 85 minutes into the match, got Lauro Linhares's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After a rather tough play, PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Dagoberto Teixeira got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 87th minute of the match Oséas Miranda shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luisão Simões showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Dida Vale got a free kick in the 88th minute. In the 89th minute of the match Oséas Miranda shot from a long distance. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. CE LAJEADENSE RS had won after a very even match.
