After having played for 3 minutes, Valdomiro Moraes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Remedios SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Valdomiro Moraes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Remedios SC's Frank da Mata got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Geovani de Senna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdomiro Moraes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Geovani Proença's late challenge caught a Remedios SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Geovani Proença helped the player get up and apologised. In the 16th match minute, Remedios SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agnaldo Amorim to maneuver through the defense. Frank da Mata recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Barões F. C.'s Arlindo Souza shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 24th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Bernardo da Rocha but with some difficulty. If Frank da Mata had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gláuber Vander in the 36th minute of play forced Barões F. C.'s goalkeeper Geovani de Senna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Valdomiro Moraes came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Remedios SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valdomiro Moraes couldn't finish the play. Geovani de Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdomiro Moraes, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 41st minute Gláuber Vander shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovani de Senna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Frank da Mata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Barões F. C. getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Nilson Santana hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gláuber Vander to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Remedios SC's Valdomiro Moraes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Geovani de Senna. Geovani de Senna yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-1. Frank da Mata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 63rd minute, Geovânio Trancoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Gláuber Vander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yan Brito took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 73rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Geovani de Senna. Barões F. C.'s goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Frank da Mata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geovani de Senna having to interfere. After 85 played minutes Remedios SC got a freekick which was hit by Alex Melo. Geovani de Senna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdomiro Moraes, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute.
