Sérgio Salgado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After some careless play in the São Paulo F.C. defense, Leandro de Lara kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sérgio Salgado. The São Paulo F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sérgio Salgado should have stopped the shot. If Emanuel Vieira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 32 minutes into the game, Alfa FC's Emanuel Vieira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alfa FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dito de Senna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leandro de Lara in the 42nd minute of play forced São Paulo F.C.'s goalkeeper Sérgio Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute Joélson Rodrigues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Salgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 47 minutes into the game, Leandro de Lara cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-5. Sérgio Salgado was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half Alfa FC were leading 1-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Sérgio Salgado stood somewhat misplaced when Joélson Rodrigues came free in front of goal and shot 1-6 to the left of him in the 54 minute. Emanuel Vieira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 61st minute, Felippe Meira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joélson Rodrigues didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 1-8 via right post in the game's 68th minute. Alfa FC's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! After 71 played minutes Alfa FC got a freekick which was hit by Enéas Bezerra. Emanuel Vieira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emanuel Vieira during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Alfa FC's Emanuel Vieira got a free kick in the 79th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 82 minutes, Sérgio Salgado successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The supporters of Alfa FC booed when São Paulo F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dida Macedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfa FC's Joélson Rodrigues got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 88 minutes into the game, Emanuel Vieira recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Sérgio Salgado. Emanuel Vieira showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-9. Joélson Rodrigues could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Sérgio Salgado made a huge save. Sérgio Salgado didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 95th minute, which inside left pole to 1-10.
