Limoeiro-PE FC's Ricardo Carneiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hernani Hermes in the 16th minute of play. Haroldo de Sena made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Lino Correia sent off a good shot on target. Reko-Recko 03™'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Limoeiro-PE FC the free kick. Reko-Recko 03™'s Haroldo de Sena proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 29th minute of the match, managed to save Reko-Recko 03™ from getting a goal against them. If Hernani Hermes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Limoeiro-PE FC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Jorge Secco hit a great ball. When Hernani Hermes came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Reko-Recko 03™ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hernani Hermes couldn't finish the play. Haroldo de Sena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cafu Nóbrega, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Erivaldo Esteves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Carneiro having to interfere. Ricardo Carneiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wiliam Cardoso, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 43rd minute Wiliam Cardoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Carneiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

After 74 played minutes Reko-Recko 03™ got a freekick which was hit by Wiliam Cardoso. In the 75th minute of the match Jorge Secco sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Haroldo de Sena skillfully saved the ball. Vágner de Souza's late challenge caught a Reko-Recko 03™'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vágner de Souza helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Limoeiro-PE FC getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Vágner de Souza hit a great ball. Ricardo Carneiro made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Hernani Hermes sent off a good shot on target. When Betinho Leme fell near the penalty area in the 84th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Limoeiro-PE FC's protests and gave Betinho Leme a yellow card for diving instead. Betinho Leme hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. The supporters of Reko-Recko 03™ booed when Limoeiro-PE FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Betinho Leme didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ricardo Carneiro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nildo Veloso in the 88th minute. Eliseu Camargo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Reko-Recko 03™ had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
