Gustavo Sabóia started the match with the kick off. Zeca Santos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hermínio Neves in the 6th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Mosqueteiros 4EVER's goal looked a bit too open when Amadeu Maranhense came free, but Beto de Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zeca Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dino Palmeira in the 15th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the game, Gustavo Sabóia cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Beto de Amorim was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mosqueteiros 4EVER's Beto de Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Sabóia in the 22nd minute of play. Beto de Amorim was out of position in the 25 minute of play, and Gustavo Sabóia capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gustavo Sabóia really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Wellington Phoenix's Zeca Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Moisés Branco in the 29th minute of play. If Nilmar Linhares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Hermínio Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zeca Santos having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Alex Paulista had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Beto de Amorim. Mosqueteiros 4EVER's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alex Paulista was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Beto de Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Paulista in the 53rd minute of play. The supporters of Wellington Phoenix booed when Mosqueteiros 4EVER was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dedê Luz didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Alessandro Queirós took a quick shot and it went in 3-2 without a chance for Zeca Santos to make any attempt to save it. Zeca Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Moisés Branco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alessandro Queirós charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alessandro Queirós the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Wellington Phoenix's Juarês Teixeira was substituted for Walmyr Freitas. A collision led to Mosqueteiros 4EVER getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Alessandro Queirós hit a great ball. Beto de Amorim didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mazinho Baptista went, in the 72nd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. Wellington Phoenix's Gil Cardoso was substituted for Gustavo Sabóia. Alex Paulista scored 6-2 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Beto de Amorim, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Amadeu Maranhense shot a long shot in the 86th minute and a light blocked Beto de Amorim hadn't a chance when the ball went into goal on his right side. It was 7-2. In the 91st minute Hermínio Neves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeca Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Beto de Amorim didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mazinho Baptista went, in the 97th minute, to the upper right corner, 8-2 was the resulting score.
