The tension between the AVAÍ F.C. and the Ique Football Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, AVAÍ F.C.'s Vitório Prado got a free kick in the 12th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Ique Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Ediberto Bertassi came free, but Luiz Gustavo Negri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diogo Nóbrega scored 1-0 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luís Fabiano Queirós, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
