The penalty shot was made by Zunbeltz Inchaurdi, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of GOMEZ F.C.'s Umbruso Mena. 0-1. In the 14th match minute, GOMEZ F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vela Baptista to maneuver through the defense. GOMEZ F.C.'s Umbruso Mena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valiente Tebar in the 20th minute of play. Valiente Tebar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Umbruso Mena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Umbruso Mena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franco Mussoll in the 31st minute of play. After a rather tough play, GOMEZ F.C.'s Kaviedes Belloso got a free kick in the 34th minute. Zunbeltz Inchaurdi, 36 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 45th minute, Valiente Tebar left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Inter de Guayaquil FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Franco Mussoll to make the kick off. Virila Duque charged in rather forcefully in the 50th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The tension between the Inter de Guayaquil FC and the GOMEZ F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 74th minute, Ricardo Erosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Umbruso Mena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vera Castro in the 81st minute of the match. Inter de Guayaquil FC played a much better game than GOMEZ F.C. and deserved their victory. The GOMEZ F.C. players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
