Acun Özbilgin hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. In the 9th minute, Cezmi Paşa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Kutay Sarih kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Müfit Tolgahan. That made the score 2-0 in the 11 minute of play. A collision led to Samsunspor getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Mecnun Başer hit a great ball. In the 23rd minute, Samsunspor's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Kutay Sarih fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. FC SASA ILIC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Samsunspor the free kick. A collision led to FC SASA ILIC getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Acun Özbilgin hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the match, FC SASA ILIC's goal looked a bit too open when Kandemir Uluhan came free, but Vecdet Parsbay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vecdet Parsbay didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Atabey Tükel went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. 35 minutes had been played when some careless play by FC SASA ILIC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mecnun Başer was slow to take the kick. During this time Samsunspor's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to Samsunspor's İsmail Orhun Aktaşoğlu getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. If Berke Azim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Samsunspor's Mecnun Başer in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC SASA ILIC's goalie prevented a goal. After 42 played minutes FC SASA ILIC got a freekick which was hit by Acun Özbilgin. If Kutay Sarih had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of FC SASA ILIC booed when Samsunspor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tamer Mengüç didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kutay Sarih to make the kick off. Samsunspor's Müfit Tolgahan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kutay Sarih in the 53rd minute of play. In the 55th minute, Samsunspor's Tarkan Akçay dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-2. With a little luck, FC SASA ILIC's Vecdet Parsbay got control of the ball when Tarkan Akçay tried to sneak it across the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, FC SASA ILIC's goal looked a bit too open when Kandemir Uluhan came free, but Vecdet Parsbay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. İsmail Orhun Aktaşoğlu hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. In the 72nd minute, Samsunspor's Tamer Mengüç ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Vecdet Parsbay. Vecdet Parsbay yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-3. In the 77th minute Kutay Sarih shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Müfit Tolgahan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kandemir Uluhan in the 79th minute of play forced FC SASA ILIC's goalkeeper Vecdet Parsbay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vecdet Parsbay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kandemir Uluhan in the 84th minute of play. After a rather tough play, FC SASA ILIC's Acun Özbilgin got a free kick in the 86th minute. If Kutay Sarih had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Müfit Tolgahan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kutay Sarih, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kutay Sarih in the 93rd minute of play forced Samsunspor's goalkeeper Müfit Tolgahan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
