Spectators: 165 (Terracing: 124, Seating: 38, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nikos Stavrou started the match with the kick off. If Allan Corrigan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 2nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Panionios MK booed when Lipochσrion FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emrah Alatay didn't get a good kick on the ball. 9 minutes into the match, Lipochσrion FC's goal looked a bit too open when Allan Corrigan came free, but Theagenis Giannou reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Lipochσrion FC booed when Panionios MK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonis Linardakis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Nikos Stavrou could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Erik Vale made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Fanis Peros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lipochσrion FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fanis Peros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erik Vale breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some careless play in the Lipochσrion FC defense, Zisis Chronidis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Theagenis Giannou. The Lipochσrion FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Theagenis Giannou should have stopped the shot. Theagenis Giannou made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zisis Chronidis in the 29th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Panionios MK's Fanis Salepis got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Nikos Stavrou's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erik Vale read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Zisis Chronidis might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Theagenis Giannou. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zisis Chronidis ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Allan Corrigan in the 37th minute of play forced Lipochσrion FC's goalkeeper Theagenis Giannou to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lipochσrion FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Argyris Ksagorarakis was slow to take the kick. During this time Panionios MK's players had a chance to rest. The supporters of Panionios MK booed when Lipochσrion FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Michalis Patsatzoglou didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 41 minutes, Argyris Ksagorarakis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panionios MK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Argyris Ksagorarakis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Nikos Stavrou got free in front of the goal in the 47th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Erik Vale was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After the first half Panionios MK were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Allan Corrigan made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute of the match Alketas Klanakis shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Erik Vale showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Fanis Peros shot the penalty kick right outside the post. A collision led to Panionios MK getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Antonis Linardakis hit a great ball. After 59 minutes Panionios MK's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fanis Peros who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Fanis Peros got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Erik Vale quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. When Michalis Patsatzoglou fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lipochσrion FC's protests and gave Michalis Patsatzoglou a yellow card for diving instead. Theagenis Giannou showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Themos Leontiadis in the 65th minute of the match. In the 66th minute Fanis Salepis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Theagenis Giannou saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Panionios MK's Fanis Salepis in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Lipochσrion FC's goalie prevented a goal. After 68 played minutes Panionios MK got a freekick which was hit by Argyris Ksagorarakis. Erik Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Necat Baysal in the 72nd minute of play. A collision led to Lipochσrion FC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Thanos Agapoulis hit a great ball. Erik Vale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nikos Stavrou in the 81st minute of the match. Fanis Salepis kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Dimosthenis Ploumoudis made in the 87th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Allan Corrigan however managed to control. Erik Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nikos Stavrou, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Nikos Stavrou blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Erik Vale having to make a save. Lipochσrion FC's Theagenis Giannou played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Allan Corrigan in the 97th minute of play. Panionios MK's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
