Spectators: 191 (Terracing: 144, Seating: 44, VIP seats: 3) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Iwo Sawicki took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 7th minute Alessio Bongartz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josef Witlatschil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Blau Weiß Sauerland defense, Gaizka Mendieta kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Uwe Kuhni. The Blau Weiß Sauerland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Uwe Kuhni should have stopped the shot. Tiger's Pentti Ojala got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 17 minutes into the match, Tiger's goal looked a bit too open when Willi Reutter came free, but Josef Witlatschil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Josef Witlatschil didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Paulo Renato Meirelles went, in the 26th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Uwe Kuhni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thilo Heß in the 29th minute of play. Josef Witlatschil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alessio Bongartz in the 37th minute of the match. In the 39th minute Alessio Bongartz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Josef Witlatschil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tiger's Josef Witlatschil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alessio Bongartz in the 41st minute of play. Uwe Kuhni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Iwo Sawicki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Walter Baß kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. After 45 played minutes Blau Weiß Sauerland got a freekick which was hit by Alessio Bongartz. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Willi Reutter stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alessio Bongartz got free with Josef Witlatschil in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 55th match minute, Blau Weiß Sauerland was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dorel Giubelean to maneuver through the defense. After 56 played minutes, Tiger's Américo Baehr shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Uwe Kuhni came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Tiger reached it. In the 57th minute, Blau Weiß Sauerland's Paulo Renato Meirelles dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. Blau Weiß Sauerland's Uwe Kuhni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Folko Rebe in the 62nd minute of play. 68 minutes into the match, Blau Weiß Sauerland's goal looked a bit too open when Iwo Sawicki came free, but Uwe Kuhni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Josef Witlatschil made an important save on a dangerous shot by Willi Reutter in the 73rd minute. In the 77th minute Iwo Sawicki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Uwe Kuhni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 80th minute, Alessio Bongartz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Blau Weiß Sauerland fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-3. Tiger made a substitution. Fatih Schwemer replaced Walter Baß. An unexpectedly hard shot by Américo Baehr in the 85th minute of play forced Blau Weiß Sauerland's goalkeeper Uwe Kuhni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodolfo Birk's late challenge caught a Tiger's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rodolfo Birk helped the player get up and apologised. Rodolfo Birk hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Uwe Kuhni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michail Bakunin in the 88th minute of play. Tiger's Josef Witlatschil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adam Pingel in the 92nd minute of play. The Blau Weiß Sauerland supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Blau Weiß Sauerland would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
