After taking down the ball on FC Buzău's corner Emil Strugure fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Pompiliu Murgescu quite easily take care of the ball. In the 16th minute FC Buzău were awarded a corner. Emil Strugure went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Traian Balaban almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but AVANTUL PETRICANI's Pompiliu Murgescu did a great save. Pompiliu Murgescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Traian Balaban, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. When the match had been going on for 28 minutes, FC Buzău's Emil Strugure got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Pompiliu Murgescu. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Buzău's Avram Elenescu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pompiliu Murgescu. That made the score 3-0 after 33 minutes of play. Sever Giugiuc kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. FC Buzău's Gheorghe Baldovin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ion Moscu in the 39th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cătălin Arjoca in the 41st minute of play forced AVANTUL PETRICANI's goalkeeper Pompiliu Murgescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Diamantino Phoenix during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Pompiliu Murgescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonard Aanuţei in the 43rd minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

AVANTUL PETRICANI's Jani Petters was substituted for Federico De Rubeis. 55 minutes into the match, FC Buzău's goalkeeper Gheorghe Baldovin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jani Petters.
