The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jochen Van den Panhuizen made in the 3rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Vc Brye's Tavs Kirck. In the 4th minute, Gabríel Vassaras ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jean-Louis Van Bever was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Henri-Patrick De Mare showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mathijs Rokeloos in the 8th minute of the match. In the 9th minute, Mathijs Rokeloos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KFC Cromvelde fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Mathijs Rokeloos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Henri-Patrick De Mare showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mathijs Rokeloos, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Ştefan Stoica could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Jean-Louis Van Bever made a huge save. Matthias Wauters received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Henri-Patrick De Mare tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Herman Frans hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Vc Brye's Henri-Patrick De Mare played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mathijs Rokeloos in the 22nd minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, KFC Cromvelde's goal looked a bit too open when Gabríel Vassaras came free, but Jean-Louis Van Bever reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Vc Brye booed when KFC Cromvelde was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karl-Heinz Kaltz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mathijs Rokeloos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henri-Patrick De Mare read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Vc Brye's goalkeeper Henri-Patrick De Mare, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 35 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vc Brye's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Matthias Wauters was slow to take the kick. During this time KFC Cromvelde's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Matthias Wauters got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Henri-Patrick De Mare quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Henri-Patrick De Mare took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mathijs Rokeloos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 37th minute Mathijs Rokeloos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henri-Patrick De Mare saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mathijs Rokeloos in the 40th minute of play forced Vc Brye's goalkeeper Henri-Patrick De Mare to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jean-Louis Van Bever showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabríel Vassaras in the 43rd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mathijs Rokeloos in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Henri-Patrick De Mare saved Vc Brye from getting behind. In the 45th minute KFC Cromvelde were awarded a corner. Matthias Wauters went to the cornerflag to take it. Mathijs Rokeloos struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Henri-Patrick De Mare didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KFC Cromvelde.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mathijs Rokeloos to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Vc Brye's Tavs Kirck got a free kick in the 54th minute. Fox 鲁迅 scored 2-1 in the 56th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jean-Louis Van Bever, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 59 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Vc Brye! 64 minutes into the match, KFC Cromvelde's goal looked a bit too open when Gabríel Vassaras came free, but Jean-Louis Van Bever reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dé 武松 in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Henri-Patrick De Mare saved Vc Brye from getting behind. 71 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vc Brye's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Matthias Wauters was slow to take the kick. During this time KFC Cromvelde's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Vc Brye's goalie and right to 沈笑伟. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Vc Brye's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Matthias Wauters fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Henri-Patrick De Mare having to interfere. KFC Cromvelde's attentive Jochen Van den Panhuizen managed to snatch the ball when Tavs Kirck made a throw-in in the 75th minute of the game. Matthias Wauters made a great header on KFC Cromvelde's corner, it was just that Vc Brye's Henri-Patrick De Mare managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matthias Wauters in the 83rd minute of play forced Vc Brye's goalkeeper Henri-Patrick De Mare to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Henri-Patrick De Mare was out of position in the 97 minute of play, and Dé 武松 capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dé 武松 really showed his touch with that goal: 2-4. The KFC Cromvelde supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing KFC Cromvelde would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
