Joel Vlimmens's late challenge caught a Café DE PLOEG's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Brian Verhaghen ran back to his position shaking his head. Jan-Pieter Koninckx hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Andries Van Mechelen made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Hampus Rebec sent off a good shot on target. After taking down the ball on Café DE PLOEG's corner Calistrat Bulcă fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Andries Van Mechelen quite easily take care of the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

YR Mechelen's Andries Van Mechelen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 龚康松 in the 53rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in YR Mechelen's zone, Hampus Rebec stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andries Van Mechelen came out of the goal and Hampus Rebec tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 72 minutes into the match, YR Mechelen's goal looked a bit too open when Ludwig Kloots came free, but Andries Van Mechelen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, YR Mechelen's goal looked a bit too open when Hampus Rebec came free, but Andries Van Mechelen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Café DE PLOEG walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
