In the 7th minute Nickolai Nickerson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rune Grep saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomasz Jakubowski hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. The supporters of Lirarnas Lag booed when Étoile Sportive Du Sahel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Radu Fetea didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rune Grep made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nickolai Nickerson in the 16th minute of play. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Lirarnas Lag's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Radu Fetea was slow to take the kick. During this time Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's Tomasz Jakubowski getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. The supporters of Étoile Sportive Du Sahel booed when Lirarnas Lag was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pang Hai Yue didn't get a good kick on the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Nickolai Nickerson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rune Grep. Lirarnas Lag's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nickolai Nickerson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. After some careless play in the Lirarnas Lag defense, Nickolai Nickerson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rune Grep. The Lirarnas Lag fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rune Grep should have stopped the shot. Eric Soned showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Christer Wästerberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Nickolai Nickerson took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rune Grep. Rune Grep dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Rune Grep showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nickolai Nickerson, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 42nd minute, Morgan Möllgren hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Étoile Sportive Du Sahel getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Radu Fetea hit a great ball. Rune Grep showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nickolai Nickerson, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Nickolai Nickerson in the 62nd minute of play forced Lirarnas Lag's goalkeeper Rune Grep to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nickolai Nickerson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Rune Grep made a huge save. Eric Soned showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonathan Petersson in the 66th minute of the match. Rune Grep made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nickolai Nickerson in the 69th minute of play. In the 69th minute, Nickolai Nickerson made a precise shot to the right of Rune Grep. Lirarnas Lag's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. After a rather tough play, Lirarnas Lag's Simone Mihajlovič got a free kick in the 71st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nickolai Nickerson in the 72nd minute of play forced Lirarnas Lag's goalkeeper Rune Grep to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Juninho Pernambucano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 89 minutes into the match, Lirarnas Lag's goal looked a bit too open when Juninho Pernambucano came free, but Rune Grep reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lirarnas Lag's Rune Grep played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juninho Pernambucano in the 90th minute of play. Juninho Pernambucano struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Rune Grep didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Étoile Sportive Du Sahel. In the 93rd minute of the match, Juninho Pernambucano tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rune Grep saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Étoile Sportive Du Sahel's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
