Wes Nichols could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Bryant Miles made a huge save. With an all-out effort, Recolta Alamor's Bryant Miles threw himself towards the right post 10 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Damian Dean, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Recolta Alamor's goalkeeper Grigore Proca, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 12 minutes into the match, Don Malbec notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Recolta Alamor's Grigore Proca. Grigore Proca was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Charlotte FC's Bryant Miles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sherwood Petty in the 17th minute of play. In the 18th minute Don Malbec shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Grigore Proca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute, Don Malbec got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 29 minutes into the match, Recolta Alamor's goal looked a bit too open when Don Malbec came free, but Grigore Proca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Charlotte FC's Don Malbec sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Grigore Proca narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Emmanuel Pennington could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Bryant Miles made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Don Malbec in the 40th minute of play forced Recolta Alamor's goalkeeper Grigore Proca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Damian Dean in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bryant Miles saved Charlotte FC from getting behind. 43 minutes into the game, Recolta Alamor's Emmanuel Pennington nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bryant Miles made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. 47 minutes into the match, Charlotte FC's goalkeeper Bryant Miles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emmanuel Pennington. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Don Malbec might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Grigore Proca. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Don Malbec ran back to his position shaking his head. Charlotte FC's Don Malbec got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Recolta Alamor's Damian Dean in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
