Ivo Guterres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gonzalo Lixandro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Qiu Chuan Ran proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. from getting a goal against them. In the 19th minute of the match SC Freiburg 09 got a corner. Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. David Martínez ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Máximo Lameiras heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Qiu Chuan Ran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raul Leal, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 26th minute, Abílio Passos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Mehmet Ferit İsmet kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Qiu Chuan Ran. That made the score 3-0 in the 30 minute of play. 33 minutes into the game, Humberto Carmo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Freiburg 09's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. the free kick. Humberto Carmo hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Israel Carvalhal took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 34th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ivo Guterres. SC Freiburg 09's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. were awarded a corner in the 36th minute after SC Freiburg 09's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Israel Carvalhal took the corner. The corner led to Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Rodolfo Faria getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. SC Freiburg 09's Ivo Guterres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raimundo Ventura in the 38th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raimundo Ventura in the 41st minute of play forced SC Freiburg 09's goalkeeper Ivo Guterres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ivo Guterres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bernard Perathoner, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 44 minutes into the match, SC Freiburg 09's goal looked a bit too open when Bernard Perathoner came free, but Ivo Guterres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Raul Leal stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. SC Freiburg 09's Raul Leal got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 54 minutes into the match, Raimundo Ventura notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of SC Freiburg 09's Ivo Guterres. Ivo Guterres was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to SC Freiburg 09 getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Máximo Lameiras hit a great ball. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s goalkeeper Qiu Chuan Ran, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 61st minute of the match SC Freiburg 09 got a corner. In the 64th minute, Gonzalo Lixandro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ivo Guterres. The goal made the score 3-2. SC Freiburg 09's Ivo Guterres proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save SC Freiburg 09 from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Raul Leal in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Qiu Chuan Ran prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ivo Guterres was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Gonzalo Lixandro showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-3 in the 73 minute of play. The supporters of SC Freiburg 09 booed when Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Witold Piszczor didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 78th match minute, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Witold Piszczor to maneuver through the defense. 81 minutes into the match, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s goal looked a bit too open when Raul Leal came free, but Qiu Chuan Ran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Sporting Clube V.R.S.A.'s Claudemiro Madureira got a free kick in the 81st minute. Qiu Chuan Ran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raul Leal in the 82nd minute of play. In the 82nd minute, Raul Leal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Qiu Chuan Ran was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-3. The crowd rose to their feet as Gonzalo Lixandro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ivo Guterres. That made the score 4-4 in the 87 minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudemiro Madureira in the 95th minute of play forced SC Freiburg 09's goalkeeper Ivo Guterres to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Claudemiro Madureira spun around in front of the goal 95 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of SC Freiburg 09's goal. Sporting Clube V.R.S.A. were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing SC Freiburg 09 to leave the ground with a draw.
