With his leg Patrick Knechtli managed to avoid a goal in the 52ndth minute, when FC Wil 1900's Pirmin Jäggi fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Téo Rosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrick Knechtli having to interfere. Patrick Knechtli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tory Pryor, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. The audience was convinced that Florian Plouffe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lionel Paly was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Patrick Knechtli showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a little luck, Olympique Fribourg's Patrick Knechtli got control of the ball when Tory Pryor tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 95th minute of the match Ivan Dové sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Patrick Knechtli skillfully saved the ball. When the match was over FC Wil 1900 could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Olympique Fribourg throughout the match.
