The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Omar Lauren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrew Dalli in the 5th minute of the match. 6 minutes into the match, Esmeralda AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristiano Graziano came free, but Jorge Armani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 8thth minute of the game Cristiano Graziano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Esmeralda AFC's Jorge Armani was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Natalio Martino received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jorge Armani came out and tried to block the shot, but Natalio Martino slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 9th minute. 16 minutes into the match, Cristiano Graziano dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jorge Armani, 2-0. 23 minutes into the match, Deportivo Balvanera's goal looked a bit too open when Zülfü Sungur came free, but Omar Lauren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 23 played minutes Deportivo Balvanera got a freekick which was hit by Everardo Cordero. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Cristiano Graziano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Balvanera's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristiano Graziano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorge Armani breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Deportivo Balvanera booed when Esmeralda AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Niceto Matxin didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Natalio Martino in the 42nd minute of play forced Esmeralda AFC's goalkeeper Jorge Armani to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristiano Graziano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Jorge Armani made a huge save. In the 47th minute Cristiano Graziano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Armani saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

During the 64th minute of the match Cristiano Graziano completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Cristiano Graziano a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 65 played minutes Deportivo Balvanera got a freekick which was hit by Cristiano Graziano. 67 minutes into the match, Deportivo Balvanera's goal looked a bit too open when Andrew Dalli came free, but Omar Lauren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Deportivo Balvanera's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-3. Jorge Armani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isaias Erroman in the 85th minute of play. 87 minutes into the game, Isaias Erroman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-3. Jorge Armani was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Deportivo Balvanera's Omar Lauren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eloy Calvino in the 90th minute of play. Deportivo Balvanera were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Esmeralda AFC for a fine match.
