In the 6th minute Alvin Thedin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kiko Passos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. VARGINHA FC's Dito Novaes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save VARGINHA FC from getting a goal against them. Gualterio Gilabert blasted a shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dito Novaes having to make a save. Dito Novaes made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Gualterio Gilabert sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gualterio Gilabert in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dito Novaes saved VARGINHA FC from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gualterio Gilabert in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dito Novaes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Dito Novaes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gualterio Gilabert in the 23rd minute. After 24 minutes VARGINHA FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Carlos Casemiro who took care of the corner kick. E.C. Água Santa's Carlos Casemiro was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dito Novaes in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some careless play in the E.C. Água Santa defense, Josué Paiva kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kiko Passos. The E.C. Água Santa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kiko Passos should have stopped the shot. 29 minutes into the match, E.C. Água Santa's goal looked a bit too open when Josué Paiva came free, but Kiko Passos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 31 minutes had been played when some careless play by E.C. Água Santa's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Josué Paiva was slow to take the kick. During this time VARGINHA FC's players had a chance to rest. Josué Paiva made a great header on VARGINHA FC's corner, it was just that E.C. Água Santa's Kiko Passos managed to reach the ball for a save. Valdomiro Rosado hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Gualterio Gilabert blasted a shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dito Novaes having to make a save. Dito Novaes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gualterio Gilabert in the 35th minute. Kiko Passos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Josué Paiva in the 36th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 38 minutes, Dito Novaes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Kiko Passos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Álvaro Gaspar, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. E.C. Água Santa's John Seah got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thiago Barros kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. In the 44th minute Álvaro Gaspar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kiko Passos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Josué Paiva made a kick off. E.C. Água Santa's Kiko Passos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josué Paiva in the 51st minute of play. With a little luck, E.C. Água Santa's Kiko Passos got control of the ball when Álvaro Gaspar tried to sneak it across the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, E.C. Água Santa's goalkeeper Kiko Passos had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alvin Thedin. Dito Novaes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Casemiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dito Novaes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gualterio Gilabert's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. The audience was convinced that Gualterio Gilabert's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dito Novaes was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. Dito Novaes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gualterio Gilabert, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A nice corner shot did that Carlos Casemiro got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dito Novaes quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Dito Novaes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jonas Fernandes's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. In the 81st minute of the match, Josué Paiva tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Kiko Passos saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When E.C. Água Santa's Andrézinho Berger in the 83rd minute got a chance for a shot 83rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye VARGINHA FC's goalie prevented a goal. After 88 played minutes E.C. Água Santa got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Casemiro. Andrézinho Berger might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dito Novaes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Andrézinho Berger ran back to his position shaking his head. E.C. Água Santa's Kiko Passos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Josué Paiva in the 94th minute of play. When the match was over VARGINHA FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than E.C. Água Santa throughout the match.
