The player immediately received a yellow card. When Ademir Guia fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored União Verde FC's protests and gave Ademir Guia a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, União Verde FC's Ademir Guia got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind União Verde FC's goalkeeper Valdir Pérez, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Laércio Damião to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Luís Gustavo da Silva managed to get in a good position for a shot. Domicilio's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Gustavo da Silva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
