Alfredo Martins did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-0 to the left of a surprised Jorginho Vaz 12 minutes into the match. The supporters of Portuguesa booed when Marquês de Herval was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lorenzo Mendebal didn't get a good kick on the ball. 23 minutes into the game, Pedro Luís da Rocha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marquês de Herval's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Portuguesa the free kick. After 23 played minutes Marquês de Herval got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Luís da Rocha. The tension between the Marquês de Herval and the Portuguesa players grew even worse after the yellow card. Portuguesa made a substitution. David de Alcântara replaced Holger Zachrisson. Marquês de Herval's Jair Bostan was substituted for Selami Rezan. In the 77th minute, Lorenzo Mendebal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jorginho Vaz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jorginho Vaz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from German Cano in the 91st minute of the match. 92 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's goal looked a bit too open when David de Alcântara came free, but Dida Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dida Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David de Alcântara in the 94th minute of play. If 任浩默 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marquês de Herval's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
