The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Ogro F.C.'s Pedro Paulo Penha got control of the ball when Christian Baiano tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 5th match minute, Papunhas EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valério Linhares to maneuver through the defense. Deen Castronovo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ismael Nazario Serre read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 7th minute of play. In the 10th minute, Valério Linhares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 12 minutes into the match, Clive Burr had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ismael Nazario Serre. Papunhas EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Clive Burr was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 18th minute Deen Castronovo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ismael Nazario Serre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute Agostinho de Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Paulo Penha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Deen Castronovo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ismael Nazario Serre read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. A well-hit corner resulted in Ramon Montagner heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Papunhas EC's Ismael Nazario Serre played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clive Burr in the 26th minute of play. Pedro Paulo Penha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agostinho de Carvalho in the 28th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Valdemar de Moraes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pedro Paulo Penha. That made the score 1-1 in the 30 minute of play. The audience was convinced that Deen Castronovo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ismael Nazario Serre was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Deen Castronovo struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Ismael Nazario Serre didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ogro F.C.. Josh Freese hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. The supporters of Papunhas EC booed when Ogro F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Josh Freese didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Valdemar de Moraes to strike the kick off in the second half. Valdemar de Moraes scored 2-1 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Paulo Penha, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Mario Duplantier charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mario Duplantier the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ismael Nazario Serre didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Clive Burr went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-2 was the resulting score. In the 70th minute, Clive Burr hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 71st minute of the match Marcel Pinho shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pedro Paulo Penha showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 73rd minute, Valdemar de Moraes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 77th minute Agostinho de Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Paulo Penha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Paulo Penha took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valdemar de Moraes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ismael Nazario Serre made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Clive Burr sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Papunhas EC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Vítor Sampaio hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Papunhas EC's zone, Clive Burr stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ismael Nazario Serre came out of the goal and Clive Burr tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Clive Burr could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Ismael Nazario Serre made a huge save. Valdemar de Moraes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Pedro Paulo Penha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Ogro F.C. getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Kiko Arce hit a great ball.
