Spectators: 144 (Terracing: 109, Seating: 33, VIP seats: 2) Goianésia E.C's Mark Faiko started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute of the match, Edgard Cabral tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Norbert Balonek saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 4th minute Osmar de Moraes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norbert Balonek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 5th minute of the match Goiás Esporte Clube got a corner. Goianésia E.C's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Valdir Neves ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Christian Carioca heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. When Christian Carioca fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Goiás Esporte Clube's protests and gave Christian Carioca a yellow card for diving instead. In the 7th match minute, Goiás Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christian Carioca to maneuver through the defense. Goianésia E.C's Norbert Balonek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgard Cabral in the 11th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Goiás Esporte Clube's Edgard Cabral slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Norbert Balonek. That made the score 1-0 after 11 minutes of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edgard Cabral in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Norbert Balonek prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Edgard Cabrals short, quick shot in the 15thth minute got Norbert Balonek to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 17 minutes into the match, Goianésia E.C's goal looked a bit too open when Osmar de Moraes came free, but Norbert Balonek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edgard Cabral did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Norbert Balonek 18 minutes into the match. Norbert Balonek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgard Cabral, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Goiás Esporte Clube's Eliézer Barros got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Natanael Paraense stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tiago España's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Osmar de Moraes kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Norbert Balonek. That made the score 3-0 in the 31 minute of play. In the 34th minute Tomasz Poniewaz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Natanael Paraense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Tomasz Poniewaz fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Goianésia E.C's protests and gave Tomasz Poniewaz a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Goianésia E.C's Tomasz Poniewaz got a free kick in the 36th minute. If Osmar de Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the match, Goianésia E.C's goal looked a bit too open when Osmar de Moraes came free, but Norbert Balonek reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edgard Cabral fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norbert Balonek having to interfere. When Goiás Esporte Clube's Osmar de Moraes in the 45th minute got a chance for a shot 45th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Goianésia E.C's goalie prevented a goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Edgard Cabral made the kick off in the second half. Norbert Balonek stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edgard Cabral's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. Norbert Balonek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgard Cabral in the 56th minute of play. In the 58th minute Edgard Cabral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Norbert Balonek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edgard Cabral in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Norbert Balonek saved Goianésia E.C from getting behind. 62 minutes into the game, Edgard Cabral cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Norbert Balonek was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 65thth minute of the game Edgard Cabral who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Goianésia E.C's Norbert Balonek was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Osmar de Moraes came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Goiás Esporte Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osmar de Moraes couldn't finish the play. 68 minutes into the match, Edgard Cabral had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Norbert Balonek. Goianésia E.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edgard Cabral was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. 72 minutes into the game, Tomasz Poniewaz recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Natanael Paraense. Tomasz Poniewaz showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 5-1. Norbert Balonek came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Goiás Esporte Clube's Edgard Cabral. But to his dismay, Edgard Cabral quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. After 79 played minutes Goiás Esporte Clube got a freekick which was hit by Giovanni da Rocha. Mark Faiko's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Natanael Paraense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. 82 minutes into the game, Edgard Cabral cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-1. Norbert Balonek was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Norbert Balonek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Cabral, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. In the 85th match minute, Goiás Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dênis Faria to maneuver through the defense. Goiás Esporte Clube's Christian Carioca pulled a muscle in his back after 86 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Tiago España's late challenge caught a Goiás Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tiago España helped the player get up and apologised. Goiás Esporte Clube's Laércio de Souza was substituted for Christian Carioca. When the match had gone on for 90 minutes, Edgard Cabral put it in 8-1 from a short distance just to the right of Norbert Balonek. If Osmar de Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 95 minutes into the game, Goiás Esporte Clube's Edgard Cabral nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Norbert Balonek made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 9-1. Goiás Esporte Clube's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
