With an all-out effort, Edson Futebol Clube's Jaime Almeida threw himself towards the right post 12 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Panos Karkantos, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Edson Futebol Clube's Paul Christini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ignacy Kinic in the 14th minute of play. Paul Christini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristiano Messi in the 15th minute of the match. In the 17th minute, Edson Futebol Clube's Panos Karkantos ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jaime Almeida. Jaime Almeida yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Lucas Hulk could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Jaime Almeida made a huge save. In the 25th minute Panos Karkantos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ignacy Kinic sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 30 minutes, Cristiano Messi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Corinthians's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristiano Messi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jaime Almeida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernesto Fontes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 33 played minutes Corinthians got a freekick which was hit by Rubinho de Lara. Corinthians's Jaime Almeida proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Corinthians from getting a goal against them. Ernesto Fontes scored 3-0 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jaime Almeida, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Corinthians's Jaime Almeida proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Corinthians from getting a goal against them. In the 42nd minute, Dorian Sena made a precise shot to the right of Jaime Almeida. Corinthians's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. In the 47th minute Cristiano Messi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paul Christini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristiano Messi in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paul Christini saved Edson Futebol Clube from getting behind. Djalma Di Filippo kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Heleno de Freitas was the one to do the kick off. Jaime Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ernesto Fontes in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 56th minute Lucas Hulk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jaime Almeida came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Edson Futebol Clube's Panos Karkantos. But to his dismay, Panos Karkantos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. 62 minutes into the game, Edson Futebol Clube's Ernesto Fontes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jaime Almeida made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. After a rather tough play, Corinthians's Jiang Yi Chong got a free kick in the 64th minute. The corner led Edson Futebol Clube's Tao Xing Yong to fire away a dangerous shot which Jaime Almeida despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Jaime Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Panos Karkantos in the 69th minute of play. After having played for 71 minutes, Kiril Biradzhiev managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Corinthians's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kiril Biradzhiev was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 73rd minute Ernesto Fontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaime Almeida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 73rd match minute, Edson Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Heleno de Freitas to maneuver through the defense. When Cristiano Messi came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Corinthians fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristiano Messi couldn't finish the play. Edson Futebol Clube made a substitution. Roger Milla replaced Dumitru Albulescu. After 82 played minutes Corinthians got a freekick which was hit by Ignacy Kinic. Corinthians made a substitution. José Vítor Ramos replaced Cristiano Messi. In the 83rd minute, Ignacy Kinic hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 89 minutes into the game, José Vítor Ramos lined in a short shot 6-1 behind a frustrated Paul Christini. Jaime Almeida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Panos Karkantos, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. When Edson Futebol Clube's Panos Karkantos in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Corinthians's goalie prevented a goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Edson Futebol Clube had played much better football throughout.
