The crowd rose to their feet as Melbourne 007's Rudy Gummow slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Evert Offendahl. That made the score 1-0 after 14 minutes of play. Sexolution FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Rudy Gummow scored to the left of an out of position Evert Offendahl, making the score, 2-0. Rudy Gummow might have been able to make a better finish in the 29th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Evert Offendahl. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rudy Gummow ran back to his position shaking his head. Thanks to some nice moves Rudy Gummow could shoot a difficult shot in the 29th minute, which Evert Offendahl however easily saved by the left post. Rudy Gummow might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Evert Offendahl. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rudy Gummow ran back to his position shaking his head. If Rudy Gummow had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The shot was stopped by Broderick Ceney but with some difficulty. Eddie Rowdon's late challenge caught a Sexolution FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eddie Rowdon helped the player get up and apologised. Eddie Rowdon kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Melbourne 007 had won after a very even match.
