Thanks to some nice moves Jeremy Olvera could shoot a difficult shot in the 17th minute, which Ludwig Apelqvist however easily saved by the left post. In the 19th match minute, FC FERNET BOYS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tibor Ligocký to maneuver through the defense. Ludwig Apelqvist was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Stancho Basarov. After 22 played minutes MIK Focus ŽILINA got a freekick which was hit by Ben Macrez. Ludwig Apelqvist was a little too slow when Jarne Vloeberghs got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 26th minute. The score was now 1-0. Ludwig Apelqvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jarne Vloeberghs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 31 minutes into the match, FC FERNET BOYS's goal looked a bit too open when Bengt-Arne Glad came free, but Ludwig Apelqvist reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andrej Ďuriš was the one to do the kick off. Ludwig Apelqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jarne Vloeberghs, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Jarne Vloeberghs put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Ludwig Apelqvist. MIK Focus ŽILINA's Kristián Slávik was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ludwig Apelqvist in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Ludwig Apelqvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bengt-Arne Glad in the 85th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bengt-Arne Glad in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ludwig Apelqvist saved FC FERNET BOYS from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bengt-Arne Glad in the 87th minute of play forced FC FERNET BOYS's goalkeeper Ludwig Apelqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Erland Arhenius came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the FC FERNET BOYS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erland Arhenius couldn't finish the play. FC FERNET BOYS made a substitution. Tomáš Michal replaced Lukáš Malinovský. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bengt-Arne Glad in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ludwig Apelqvist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Erland Arhenius's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ladislav Vališ read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Erland Arhenius struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Ladislav Vališ didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC FERNET BOYS. MIK Focus ŽILINA's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
