Javier Luar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldo Ramos having to interfere. When Nina fc's Javier Luar in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Grêmio FBPA's goalie prevented a goal. Afonsinho Neto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucio Hernandez having to interfere. After 17 played minutes Grêmio FBPA got a freekick which was hit by Edu Zonta. A collision led to Grêmio FBPA getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Nilton Perez hit a great ball. The supporters of Nina fc booed when Grêmio FBPA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nilton Perez didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 35th minute, Jarbas Marinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lucio Hernandez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afonsinho Neto in the 47th minute of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Javier Luar to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Javier Luar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldo Ramos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 53rd minute, Leandro Taurino got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 58th match minute, Nina fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Javier Restu to maneuver through the defense. Alfredo Valente took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 63rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ronaldo Ramos. Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 65 played minutes Grêmio FBPA got a freekick which was hit by Afonsinho Neto. Ronaldo Ramos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Javier Luar, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Adolfo Valentine's late challenge caught a Grêmio FBPA's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adolfo Valentine helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leandro Taurino in the 77th minute of play forced Grêmio FBPA's goalkeeper Ronaldo Ramos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Leandro Taurino fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Nina fc's protests and gave Leandro Taurino a yellow card for diving instead. Grêmio FBPA's Osvaldinho Marquez was substituted for Nilton Perez. After a rather tough play, Nina fc's Leandro Taurino got a free kick in the 79th minute. Afonsinho Neto's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 84thth minute, Lucio Hernandez skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Grêmio FBPA's Ronaldo Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Javier Luar in the 86th minute of play. 88 minutes into the match, Grêmio FBPA's goal looked a bit too open when Javier Luar came free, but Ronaldo Ramos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Javier Luar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jarbas Marinho hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Nina fc's Alfredo Valente got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. For all the effort they put into the match, the Grêmio FBPA players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Nina fc.
