Caxias do Sul's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Delmar Campello ran over to the corner to take the kick. A very nice done corner allowed Johan Öman to score against Esen Sanal in S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goal. 0-2 after 17 minutes. Esen Sanal came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by VILLARREAL UNITED's Valentin Voicu. But to his dismay, Valentin Voicu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Lucio Siekkötter let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 23rd minute shot 1-3 at rihgt post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valentin Voicu in the 30th minute of play forced S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goalkeeper Esen Sanal to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. VILLARREAL UNITED's Baraxil Sarrate played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucio Siekkötter in the 36th minute of play. Lei Feng Yan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baraxil Sarrate having to interfere. 40 minutes into the match, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's goal looked a bit too open when Valentin Voicu came free, but Esen Sanal reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Baraxil Sarrate made an important save on a dangerous shot by Renato Augusto in the 42nd minute. 44 minutes into the match, VILLARREAL UNITED's goal looked a bit too open when Lucio Siekkötter came free, but Baraxil Sarrate reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. VILLARREAL UNITED's attentive Hustaz Quijana managed to snatch the ball when Tarcisio Mangueira made a throw-in in the 46th minute of the game. Esen Sanal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Valentin Voicu's shot from short distance in the 47th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Renato Augusto made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Lei Feng Yan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baraxil Sarrate saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Renato Augusto got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 55th minute, Renato Augusto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Baraxil Sarrate was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-3. Baraxil Sarrate took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Krisztián Véber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Baraxil Sarrate showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Krisztián Véber in the 59th minute of the match. VILLARREAL UNITED made a substitution. Gert Vesterberg replaced Hustaz Quijana. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucio Siekkötter in the 71st minute of play forced VILLARREAL UNITED's goalkeeper Baraxil Sarrate to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, S.E.R. Caxias do Sul's Tarcisio Mangueira got a free kick in the 77th minute. Gláuber Tande's late challenge caught a VILLARREAL UNITED's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
