After a rather tough play, SvE United's Horymír Adámek got a free kick in the 3rd minute. SvE United's Tzvetoslav Desov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrique Cassaretto in the 4th minute of play. After some careless play in the CD Municipal defense, Hristo Stoichkov kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of George Forsyth. The CD Municipal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that George Forsyth should have stopped the shot. Enrique Cassaretto blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tzvetoslav Desov having to make a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique Cassaretto in the 10th minute of play forced SvE United's goalkeeper Tzvetoslav Desov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 12 minutes into the game, Enrique Cassaretto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Tzvetoslav Desov was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to CD Municipal getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Iacob Roman hit a great ball. With a little luck, CD Municipal's George Forsyth got control of the ball when Hristo Stoichkov tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Spiro Mutashki in the 21st minute of play forced CD Municipal's goalkeeper George Forsyth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute, Vitko Kozlov left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SvE United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 26th minute Jonny Kleen shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but George Forsyth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, SvE United's goal looked a bit too open when Enrique Cassaretto came free, but Tzvetoslav Desov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as SvE United's Vitko Kozlov slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of George Forsyth. That made the score 3-1 after 39 minutes of play. Enrique Cassaretto took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tzvetoslav Desov. Tzvetoslav Desov dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Enrique Cassaretto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 50 minutes into the match, SvE United's goalkeeper Tzvetoslav Desov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Enrique Cassaretto. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Enrique Cassaretto couldn't finish the play. CD Municipal's Tulio Andinyach was substituted for Evtim Kúrdzhev. CD Municipal made a substitution. Gunnar Ekrot replaced Zlatan Molina. In the 82nd minute, CD Municipal's Enrique Cassaretto ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tzvetoslav Desov. Tzvetoslav Desov yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-3. Tzvetoslav Desov was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. CD Municipal had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
