The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Rigoberto Cordareo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 6th minute of the match CSKA-LULIN got a corner. LA DEL MONO's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Pavel Nestor ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on CSKA-LULIN's corner Pavel Nestor fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Fabio Betadur quite easily take care of the ball. After 9 minutes of play, CSKA-LULIN's Leopoldo Jacinto made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fabio Betadur was left in no man's land by his defense there! Leopoldo Jacinto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When David Bastia came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the LA DEL MONO fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Bastia couldn't finish the play. Fabio Betadur made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Severo Danel in the 23rd minute of play. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind LA DEL MONO's goalkeeper Fabio Betadur, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Leopoldo Jacinto's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 30thth minute, Fabio Betadur skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. LA DEL MONO's Fabio Betadur played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leopoldo Jacinto in the 35th minute of play. CSKA-LULIN's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Pavel Nestor in the 37th minute. CSKA-LULIN's Ištvan Ceaușescu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Fabio Betadur in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 40 minutes into the game, Severo Danel recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Fabio Betadur. Severo Danel showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell David Bastia to make the kick off. Vitomir Starokin stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of David Bastia's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. 53 minutes into the match, LA DEL MONO's goal looked a bit too open when Severo Danel came free, but Fabio Betadur reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 62nd minute, Leopoldo Jacinto managed to get in a good position for a shot. CSKA-LULIN's supporters rose to their feet, but Leopoldo Jacinto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabio Betadur breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. CSKA-LULIN made a substitution. Yanek Davchev replaced Kang Zheng Yu. In the 71st minute, David Bastia made a precise shot to the right of Vitomir Starokin. CSKA-LULIN's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. With an all-out effort, LA DEL MONO's Vitomir Starokin threw himself towards the right post 75 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from David Bastia, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. LA DEL MONO's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
