In the 19th minute, Hermes Zambrano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benedicto Ireno was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Thanasis Papadimitriou took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Colas Valdueza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 21 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when C.A.Ituzaingo Ψ's Colas Valdueza fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. With an all-out effort, GÉMINIS DARIÉN F.C.'s Benedicto Ireno threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gottfrid Kjellbom, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gottfrid Kjellbom made a kick off. Benedicto Ireno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hermes Zambrano in the 52nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, GÉMINIS DARIÉN F.C.'s Jens-Ove Backlund got a free kick in the 53rd minute.
