Thiago Gol took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sebastião Xoxe. Sebastião Xoxe dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 7th minute Norbert Major shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petr Čech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Norbert Major had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. SCs StarS's Petr Čech played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Norbert Major in the 13th minute of play. In the 20th minute Norbert Major shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petr Čech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Anselmo Doris sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22nd match minute, Pogoń Szczecin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Conrado Donzel to maneuver through the defense. Edgar Reitsema made in the 26th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Thiago Gol immediately put the ball in play. Petr Čech showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Norbert Major, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Thiago Gol got free with Sebastião Xoxe in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Thiago Gol to strike the kick off in the second half. Pogoń Szczecin's Norbert Major got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 57th minute, Stefanos Stefanopoulos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sebastião Xoxe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jordy Dirks in the 62nd minute of play. SCs StarS's Robert de Graaf was substituted for Edgar Reitsema. Robert de Graaf made in the 87th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Thiago Gol. After some fancy dribbling in the 90th minute, Norbert Major managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pogoń Szczecin's supporters rose to their feet, but Norbert Major was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Petr Čech breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The SCs StarS fans cheered their team off the field, for while Pogoń Szczecin had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
